VIDEOGRAPHY //

After learning it in my Media Studies A-Level and Media & Communications degree, videography became a hobby.

Here, I am particularly enthusiastic about video editing (using Premiere Pro on Mac/PC, and DaVinci Resolve on my iPad), though I also know my way around filming video content using a DSLR.

Below, you can find and watch examples of both, with brief descriptions that highlight what I wanted to achieve with each project and how I went about doing so.

2024 Movie Wrap-Up

Set to KAYTRANADA’s ‘Dance Dance Dance Dance’ and a segment of Burial’s ‘Rough Sleeper’, I wanted to both recount the excitement and variety I experienced when going to the cinema across 2024, while also putting a spotlight on my most anticipated movies for the year ahead.

Drawing inspiration from Adult Swim’s famous ‘bumps’ and grand movie montages edited by the likes of David Ehrlich, I wanted to use music as both a way to commemorate my year of film and celebrate what we have yet to come. I was particularly proud of my adaptability in this project, swapping Premiere Pro for DaVinci Resolve for iPad and learning DaVinci on the fly.

Two Hours in Converse’s One Star Hotel

Upon learning about Converse’s ‘One Star Hotel’ pop-up, which included themed rooms based on the brand’s collaborators, I took my DSLR from Coventry and London to capture it. While spending time editing the video to sync up nicely to Brockhampton’s ‘RENTAL’, I was even more careful with how I approached recording that footage.

Here, I examined each room and mapped out what areas would be best for close-ups, whether a particular prop or shoe would be good for a zoom-in, or if its full splendour just had to be seen in a wide shot. Having planned, shot, and edited this project myself I enjoyed having so much control and freedom over the creative process from start to finish.
